Beyond The Fence
Pastor Chris delivered a thought-provoking sermon titled "Beyond the Fence," focusing on the parable of the Good Samaritan. The message challenged us to examine our own "fences" - the barriers we create that prevent us from truly loving our neighbors. We were reminded that as Christians, we are called to go beyond our comfort zones and represent Christ to all people, regardless of their beliefs, background, or political affiliations.
Takeaways:
We must recognize every person as bearing the image of God, which gives them inherent value and dignity.
Our role is not to be the Good Samaritan (that's Jesus), but to be the innkeeper - caring for those Jesus brings into our lives and churches.
We need to identify and overcome the "rivers" that separate us from others, choosing to be good neighbors instead of rivals.
